HOW TO STAY RESILIENT? A FRAMEWORK

Rebuilding is today’s priority, tomorrow’s survival, and success for many businesses. In these unprecedented times, resilience is the key to success.

Today’s scenario

Nations are cautiously and systematically emerging from lockdown paving way for businesses to resume. VUCA still looms with Uncertainties abound. In all this, businesses must plan the way forward.

A lot of knowledge has been disseminated through all forms of social communication, helping business leaders to create a structured approach to rebuilding their business.

What needs to be done?

According to Charles Darwin, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change”.

It all starts with sensing the external and internal environment. The faster and more accurate the sensing; action taken can be fast and precise. This can be done by being in a state of high ALERTNESS.

Being alert alone is not enough, businesses must also take actions, and quickly at that. Only businesses which are AGILE will be able to do this seamlessly.

Along with being ALERT & AGILE, businesses must also demonstrate POSITIVITY in thought and action. This becomes a fulcrum for tiding over any situations.

Any business which can be ALERT (Sensing), AGILE (Action) and POSITIVE (State of mind) WILL BE THE MOST ADAPTABLE to the changing environment/situations.

Now imagine if this formula is replicated by all individuals in all departments in an organization! Such an organization can achieve RESILIENCE in performance leading to success, no matter what the environment or situation

Navo Management Consultants, UAE, a leading innovation led consulting organization teamed up with CORPSTRAT ACADEMY for Learning, Leadership and Mentoring, UK to develop a framework to assist organizations in this journey.

Navo is widely recognized for its ability to combine ancient wisdom with modern thinking and techniques. Corpstrat Academy is highly acknowledged for delivering high-performance coaching to global players.

Action Point 1 – REBOOT: This is an immediate action

By now, most organizations have normalized Work from Home, thanks to a lot of knowledge share by industry experts and thought leaders on social media.

At this stage, a Business Health Check (BHC*) assumes high priority. This is to identify what good practices are prevailing over other practices that could potentially be efficiency stealers. The output of the BHC will act as a feed for the REBOOT 1.0 to envisage the next set of activities. The workshop should involve keys stakeholders and must be an exercise driven by critical thinking.

Action Point 2 – REALIGN: The Next Step

The outcome of the REBOOT 1.0 (namely a blueprint document) serves as a guide for action deployment helping the organization to continuously realign the overall organizational conduct with the new business realities.

Realign will be a relatively longer stage as this will involve continuous learning and multiple iterations.

Action Point 3 – RECOVER: The Final Step

The rich experiences and newer business models as a result of learning and iterations  during the REALIGN stages will bring a strong feed to the REBOOT 2.0 workshop (again, a critical thinking exercise), which will consider all the new realities that were discovered during the REALIGN stage.

The outcome of the REBOOT 2.0 workshop must pave way for creating a strong directional strategy document to build the Business Plan for 2021 and serve as a launchpad for organization’s complete RECOVERY.

An organization must have a holistic understanding of the above framework and translate them into guided and monitorable actions towards full RECOVERY.

Navo & Corpstrat Academy bring rich experience in assisting organizations in this entire journey.
